Switch Your Mates Terms and Conditions
Referrer Terms and Conditions
If you have a Powershop electricity account and successfully switch a friend, family member or business who is eligible to receive the Friend Credit (see Referee Terms and Conditions below) and signs up with Powershop online via your unique referral code by 31 December 2024, you’ll receive a $75 credit as an offset against the charges on your Powershop electricity bill (Referrer Credit). Offer only available in VIC, NSW, SA and South East Queensland, on eligible plans.
You’ll receive the Referrer Credit once your invited friend or family member has successfully switched (e.g. we start selling them electricity) to Powershop using your referral code. If your electricity contract with Powershop ends before you receive the Referrer Credit, you’ll forfeit the Referrer Credit – we won’t pay the Referrer Credit as a refund. The Referrer Credit is also not transferrable or redeemable for cash and may not be available in conjunction with any other promotional offers available through Powershop from time to time.
Powershop runs the Switch Your Mates promotion solely to allow customers to refer their friends or family. You acknowledge and agree to participate in this promotion in a responsible manner. If Powershop in its sole opinion considers you are not complying with these terms and conditions, we may ban you from being able to use this promotion in the future.
Referee Terms and Conditions
To be eligible to receive the $75 (incl. GST) credit (Friend Credit):
the premises you switch must be in VIC, NSW, SA or South East Queensland
you must not have been a Powershop customer in the last 12 months, and
you must sign up to an eligible Powershop electricity plan online via the referral link sent to you, on or before 31 December 2024.
Your bill will differ if you take up another plan, or are another type of customer, located in another distribution network, have another type of tariff or if you use more or less electricity.
The Friend Credit will be applied as an off-set against the charges on your first electricity bill. If the charges on your first electricity bill are less than the Friend Credit, we’ll carry over the balance of the Friend Credit to your next bill. If your electricity market contract ends before you’ve incurred charges to the value of the Friend Credit, you’ll forfeit the balance of the Friend Credit – we won’t pay the balance as a refund. The Friend Credit also cannot be transferred or redeemed for cash and may not be available in conjunction with any other promotional offers available through Powershop from time to time.
Powershop may, at its absolute discretion, either decline to apply the Friend Credit or, if it has already been applied, remove the Friend Credit from the relevant account where Powershop reasonably believes that you and/or the person who referred you are taking unfair advantage of this offer. Powershop may require proof of identification or a tenancy agreement in order to verify eligibility for this offer. You can contact Powershop at www.powershop.com.au/contact-us or by calling 1800 462 668.
